This is a skill oriented course to impart knowledge and skill on training on the isolation, characterization and commercial production of bio-fertilizer microorganisms.

Course Objectives:

The objectives of this subject are:

  • To promote professional skills, entrepreneurship, knowledge and marketing skills through meaningful hands on experience and working in project mode.
  • To build confidence through end to end approach in product development
  • To acquire enterprise management capabilities including skills for project development and execution, accountancy, national/international marketing, etc.

After completing this program-

  • In depth knowledge on bio-fertilizer organisms and application technologies
  • Gain confidence in promoting the bio-fertilizer technology among the farmers
  • Acquire profession skill in commercial production and marketing of bio-fertilizers
  • Can join Bio-fertilizer companies as skilled technician
  • Can start an agri- entrepreneurial venture on bio-fertilizer production
  • Can work as agri-consultant specialized in Biofertilizer technology.

Learning Record:

The trainee will submit a Practice/Project/Learning record after each class/session.

Assessment Process:

  • The assessment of the theory/knowledge will be based on a written test/viva-voce or both while the skill test shall be hands-on practical.
  • Every trainee should score a minimum of 70% in the overall assessment.

Isolation and purification of Azotobacter.
Module IV
Isolation and purification of Rhizobium.
Module V
Isolation and purification of P-solubilizers
Module VI
Isolation and purification of Cyanobacteria.
Module VII
Isolation of AM fungi -Wet sieving method and sucrose gradient method.
Module VIII
Mass multiplication of Biofertilizer
