Dr. Pushpalatha Ganesh

Dr. Pushpalatha G., Professor, Department of Plant Biotechnology, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha has many accomplishments. As a Principle Investigator (PI), she runs a project entitled ‘Genome-wide haplotype analysis for salt tolerance associated candidate genes in rice’ funded by SERB (TAR/2021/000258 dated 2nd December 2021), Government of India, India. She is also a Co-PI of ‘SERB POWER Grant’ project entitled "Engineering anthracnose resistance in chilli pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) using a single transcript CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing system ". She was an invited ‘Visiting Faculty’ under a research program on ‘Detection of freshness among cereals crops using fluorescence spectroscopy to determine the fluorescence level based on the presence of fluorescent components’ at Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. She was felicitated with ‘Scientist Associate Award’ by Society for Scientific Development in Agriculture and Technology (SSDAT) at National Conference on Emerging Challenges and Opportunities in Biotic and Abiotic Stress Management (ECOBASM-2014), at Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad. She was an ‘InvitedYoung Scientist with IRRI-PHILIPPINES Sponsorship’ to attend and present a part of her doctoral research work entitled ‘Whole Transcriptomic (RNA) Sequencing and Leaf Photosynthetic Response to Salinity in High Yielding Rice Introgression Lines Derived from KMR3 X O. rufipogon’, at 4th International Rice Congress (IRC2014) at Bangkok, Thailand. She is a recipient of ‘IASc-INSA-NASI Summer Research Fellowship for Teachers – 2018’ India
