Prosenjit Ghosh

My name is Prosenjit Ghosh and currently I am working in HCL Technologies (Noida) as a Senior Tools Automation Specialist.
I have total work experience of 3.5 years only and hence my current designation sometimes confuses my colleagues and seniors 😊
As per normal condition it takes around 9-10 years of experince to reach where I am working currently. This is where my education and my last 6 months of college life comes to play which gave this kick to my technology career.
I have done my B-Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Centurion University of Technology and Management(Bhubaneswar,Odisha). I always gave more importance to technical knowledge over exam marks. My college gave us a choice to select and switch domain in our final semester and this created lot of opportunities and excitement as we were free to choose and study subjects/technology from other departments.
I chose Embedded System domain as my final semester subject and I consider this decision of mine to be the best as it gave my career wings.
It is said that the best teacher for any subject is a teacher who actually has more love and enthusiasm for the subject she/he teaches. I am so lucky that I was taught by my favorite and one of the best faculty of CUTM, Prof. Swarna Prabha Jena.
In Embedded System domain we were trained in Embedded C and Linux Device Driver. I have a love for coding and electronics and hence this became a dream subject for me as I enjoyed each and every day of the 6 months that I spent digging into technology with my friends and teachers (Swarna Ma’am and Subrat Sir).
I am proud to say that I got taught by the best minds in coding and electronicsof Centurion University (Swarna Ma’am and Subrat Sir).
During my course I enjoyed embedded system. The linux device driver part of the course made me more curious about Operating Systems and Network Architecture. Because of embedded system I knew how the microcontrollers, the harware and the base technology works in servers, eletronics devices, computers but I wanted to dig deeper in the network part as the world is connected through this.
I got selected as a GET in DXC Technologies(Hewlett Packerd Enterprises and Computer Science Corporation merged). The interview was tough as they selected 15 candidates out of 1300. As I had good score in my technical, I was given an option to select my domain Developer/Embedded/Networking. I selected Networking and as of now I am working in Network and Server Operations and creating Automation Codes for DevOps Tools.
I worked and kept learning technologies which were new in the Corporate and hence with 1.5 years of experience I moved to HCL Technologies as they needed a candidate with knowledge of Development and Server Operation.
I got lucky again and got to work with one of best from the team of PepsiCo, Gregory Estep. He was the core member of PepsiCo Infra Global team and was on verge of retirement. He is responsiblefor the backbone design of the global PepsiCo Infrastructure and in his last 2 years of retirement I got to work with him, seeing the hunger to learn he gave me the base knowledge of how a world wide NetworkArchitecture can be built and monitored. Working with him for just 1 year got me promoted as I was working on base technology protocols which was built over a period of 28 years of his time in PepsiCo.
Today I feel confident that I am ready to jump into any vast network, no matter how complex and can manage it, as my base knowledge is clear.
It all starts from decisions we make in our career which builds it.
The coming era will be dominated by people working in deep technology and if you want to be a part of it then you need to be prepared academically to take on whatever challenges that may arise.
Love technology and it will reward you back!!
